Eat, Pray, Love (One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia) by Elizabeth Gilbert has been on my to-read list for quite a while. It's about a thirty-something suburban married woman who realizes that all she has and has worked up toward may not really be what she wanted all along. She picks up and leaves to explore the world and self, with the accounts here meaningful, witty and candid. It's a serious book in many aspects, but she is HILARIOUS. I'm wondering if she's as funny and delightful in person, because you kind of want to be her friend.
Been feeling existential recently and pertaining to the book - I, too, have felt a major shift in priorities of late, perhaps not as spiritual as Gilbert's but significant nonetheless. Values have not changed, but priorities - and it's affecting my relationships with people, my disposition from day to day, and activities. Mostly for the better, I believe. This summer's going to be full of curve balls and changes. I've never been more ready.
