I started "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle," which Claire gave me for my birthday this year, two or three days ago, and I love it. It feels like it's been a while since I read fiction and I'm glad that the transition from non-fiction has been smooth. Sometimes it sucks when you finally want to read fiction again and you get stuck with something gross, like, say, Jodi Picoult, and it just kind of ruins your literary life for the while.
Claire and I were looking things up on Haruki Murakami, the author of "The Wind-Up Bird Chroincle" and "Kafka on the Shore", and he's a marathon runner! And he wrote a collection of essays called "What We Talk About When We Talk About Running." Aw! He does translation for Raymond Carver (duh) and Kafka (duh) and I don't know, I am kind of in love with him. He also owned a jazz bar for a bit. Thank you Wikipedia.

Kind of on a Murakami rage right now. Might be doing a play of his "After Dark" in Germany. I enjoy your blog.
