SHAKES AND ACHES

It's been almost an entire semester of the old Bard, and I feel myself drifting away. It was great at first (A Midsummer's Night's Dream! Othello! Hamlet!) but now I don't even understand what I've been reading in The Winter's Tale. Except that there is a character named Hermione (!! Finally, someone besides Hermione Granger named Hermione! Although I've heard great things about Hermione Lee, the British critic who writes lots and lots of biographies). Why is it so uninteresting? Why are there so many characters? Who can I discuss this with? Why am I perpetually on page 10? Will anyone truly care if I never read this particular play and skip right to The Tempest, which at least is important in the discussion of race relations in social science essays? Ah, the great western canon.

I am so fed up with Shakes that I am actually going to start my comparative research essay. IT'S NOT EVEN DUE FOR ANOTHER THREE WEEKS. Maybe I should just try and find a job for next year instead.

Procrastination? Mais non! Merely re-organization.

I'm so tired. Tiffany.
