You've been forewarned. I have about a month to abuse the Saratoga Library... if I can find my library card. In the meanwhile, NPR has compiled an awesome list of summer reads, including cookbooks, and pop science. You know that the Chinese government makes you put a deposit down for borrowing western books? And that in their university libraries you cannot check out western books unless you're a professor? And that some postcards never got to my friends cuz they were censored by the government? Okay, just wanted to let you know to appreciate your stupid American freedoms. Seriously.
In the meantime, I just came back from the Farmer's Market. Thank sweet baby Jesus for the nice weather, American humor & irony, and nice open roads.
What's on your summer reading list? I'm looking for some Junot Diaz and even though I'm really sick of Murakami, I do want to read his nonfiction book, "What I talk about when I talk about running." I'm training for the Detroit Half-Marathon in October! Shin splits and bad knees be damned, I'm gunning for it. :)
