I made this vegan chocolate cake with a tofu-chocolate frosting, which was SO, SO GOOD. I found the recipe here, from the vegan cookbook, "The Everyday Vegan." I would use the frosting, which is really more like a mousse before it's completely set, with fruit too. All I did was use silken tofu, melted vegan friendly chocolate chips and some honey and put it in the blender. (Honey usage is controversial. I don't really care whether the bees are used in labor. I mean, there is human exploitation with h-2 visas so... pick your battles, people).
I also bought some really awesome mint-chocolate at Whole Foods. I don't eat chocolate bars anymore after OD-ing on it several years back, but this was so pretty that I just had to get it.

Having Claire back means that the fruit flies also came back. So Claire made a wine-tomato trap for them:

See? Life is so much more meaningful and fun when your roommate is around.
Also, I'm about a third-way through "As I Lay Dying." Fabulous. It's confusing, too, (when isn't Faulkner?) so I've stopped and started re-reading from the beginning just to make sure I know what's going on. It's one of those novels that's told through multiple perspectives and they always trip me up, so I'm being extra careful.

Q-Tip featuring Norah Jones (oh my cheese and rice, who hasn't she collaborated with?!)
