LOVE IN THE TIME OF SICKNESS

Vitamin C & NyQuil/Rubitussin live with the condiments

Since coming to New York, I've consumed an entire bottle of Robitussin cough expectorant, am halfway through a bottle of NyQuil severe cough & flu, and finished off an entire container of Theraflu severe cough & flu (with some help from Claire). I think my liver may die. And who told NyQuil that 'licorice' was a good idea for an original flavor?? That is some nasty shit.

Anyway, my point is I haven't been able to do any loving (ie: reading) for the past two weeks because I've really been busy trying to breathe. And it sucks. Claire says that sometimes she gets so engrossed into a book she forgets to breathe. Instead, I am trying to de-congest my left nostril and am hoping that the hearing in my left eardrum comes back.

I'm basically trying to explain why I've been so slacky with reading these past two weeks. I'm dying, okay? New York is killing me.

Today, I stapled my finger during an art project with the kids I work with. And then I dug out a student's marker cap from the trashcan. I have never been more appreciative of first grade teachers than.... now.

We Both Go Down Together
The Decemberists
