TREASURES AT HOUSING WORKS

my current bedroom bookshelf, homemade cookies, chinatown treats, and favoured wines

So many treasures! Claire and I spent a leisurely day in Chinatown and SoHo yesterday, and came back with both book treasures and lots of Chinese food. Housing Works has been really great in helping me find all those books on my reading list for 2009. So far, I've found "Never Let Me Go" (which I loved and blogged about) and "Midnight's Children." Others novels recently acquired: "Where I'm Calling From" (short story collection by Raymond Carver), "The Brothers Karamazov." What is also awesome is that the author I met, William Patrick Patterson, really DID send me his memoir, "Eating the I." I love free books!

I'm still working on "Moneyball" and it makes me miss the Bay Area and the Oakland A's, whom I mostly like because I remember a couple years ago they had really cute commercials featuring Barry Zito, who is REALLY cute. I mean, he's since gone on to play spectacularily sucky for The Giants, but whatever.

I think I have the flu, which really blows. My entire body hurts.
