BUTTONS FOR BOTTON

Alain de Botton - Swiss philosopher, thinker, television producer, columnist, writer. Author of How Proust Can Change Your Life, The Art of Travel, The Architecture of Happiness, On Love, Status Anxiety. Essays and lyrical explorations of the topic at hand, weaved with prose, stories, ideas. I really appreciate authors or artists who are able to maintain a personal style while engaging in a variety of subjects, so that there's movement, digression even, through one's life work. Too many authors write the same books, over and over, maybe packaged in different ways, with variations in character names. Botton seems like one for keeping things fresh and interesting.

Found: An interesting article that compares the effectiveness of various cover designs of the aforementioned "Proust" in various releases. From the blog Premiere de couverture: The fascinating world of book cover design.

currently listening: "White's Dream" by Plaid
