THE HUNGER
"The Hunger" was the name, and Hollywood Forever Cemetary was where it took place. Every Saturday during the summer for several years now, Cinespia puts on a free outdoor screening of rarely screened classics - this one had David Bowie and bats and blood and echoing 80s sound effects. You picnic among the celebrated dead as DJs spin before and after the show. It draws more than 1,000 fellow Angelenos per week, which would explain the nightmare parking last night.
This really was just going to be a rebel entry with no book connection, but hey according to Wiki the 1983 film was based on a novel by the same name, written by Whitley Steiber.
Also, Sex & the City was a lot of fun. Wish we could have seen it together Tiff!
