HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU

It is the Monday of all Mondays. I'm having a bad hair day. I didn't get enough sleep. Someone already said you look so tired, which, mind you, is the last thing a girl wants to hear (save perhaps 'you look fat in that'). Getting out of the car in the garage at work today, I see a colleague Brooke and wave to her. Sunglasses tumble off my head, and I can't find it for awhile. Brooke's waiting for me and I tell her to go ahead. I'm losing all hope of finding the sunglasses in the dark garage but am still on my hands and knees, in my white skirt, no less, looking for the thing. The same white skirt that has already suffered from an unfortunate coffee spill during the commute here.

Which is neither here nor there, because today I want to talk about Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo's He's Just Not That Into You. Back when I worked at Borders and when Oprah did her thing about this book, it flew off the shelves in a matter of days. We special-ordered and re-stocked, over and over, and this went on for several weeks. This book will tell you what no girlfriend would ever tell you: that hey, if you haven't received any messages from him, if he's acting aloof, it's not because he's busy or because he has a lot on his mind. It's cause - gasp! - he's probably just not that into you. Ouch.

Recently I've been overhearing a lot about this book again, and it's a blast from the past except that this time, the hype is due to Hollywood. Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston will all star in the upcoming October release. See imdb for a list of the star-studded cast.

And look, it's out of stock on Amazon. Wow Oprah and Hollywood - I'm impressed.

Time for my second cup of coffee. It's only 10:30.
